A deadly island and a quarter life crisis

My quarter-life crisis hit me with full force at the appropriate age of 25. I had finished law school in New Orleans the year before, and I was on the tail-end of a one-year job as a judicial law clerk, with a month off before I began my career at a private law firm, the prospect of which I was lukewarm about at best.

So what did I do? Well, like any good millennial, I escaped through travel. I shed my responsibilities and shipped out to Thailand for two weeks with my two close friends. We backpacked through the chaos of Bangkok, up to the jungle paradise of Chiang Mai, and ultimately down south, coming to rest in the island paradise of Koh Tao.
