A new literary contest open to previously unpublished and independently published novelists
Have you written a novel that is yet to be published? Then this is the competition for you.
In its inaugural year, the First Novel Prize aims to discover a powerful new voice in fiction and a brilliant debut.
We are now accepting entries for the First Novel Prize with a first prize of £1,000 up for grabs. If your novel is over 50,000 words and of an adult genre, then we would love to read it.
How to enter
- Pay the £25 competition entry fee.
- Upload your manuscript onto our website, making sure that your details are on the title page of your manuscript, followed by the synopsis and the novel within the same document.
- You will receive an automatic confirmation email from us and receipt of your payment.

If you wish to enter by post, please send your manuscript to First Novel prize, C/O Daniel Goldsmith Associates Ltd, Oneustonsq, 40 Melton Street, London, NW1 2FD, including a covering letter, synopsis and a cheque for the £25 entry fee.
