No Exit has announced a crime short story competition for unpublished writers.

From 25 May - 22 June No Exit Press are opening submissions for crime fiction short stories. Your story must be no longer than 3,000 words and have the strong, compelling writing that epitomises our list, be it classic police procedural, psychological thriller or gritty noir.

If this sounds like you, then fill out the details below, attach your short story, pay the £5 submission fee and keep your fingers crossed. Be sure to read the terms and conditions!

The judges will be Ion Mills, MD of Oldcastle Books (No Exit's parent), which is 30 years old this year; author Leigh Russell; agent Annette Crossland; and author and critic Barry Forshaw.

No Exit will announce a longlist on 20 July, a shortlist on 1 September, and a winner on 1 November.
