The Caterpillar Poetry Prize 2022
If you have written a poem you think would appeal to 7-11-year olds, then why not enter the The Caterpillar Poetry Prize 2022? The prize is open to anyone over 16, and the poem can be on any subject.
A prize of €1,000 is given to the best poem, chosen by our judge Naomi Shihab Nye, the author of numerous books of poems for adults and children. Her honours include awards from the International Poetry Forum, the National Book Critics Circle Lifetime Achievement Award and four Pushcart Prizes. In 1988, she received the Academy of American PoetsThe website of the wonderful Academy, which was founded in 1934 to support American poets at all stages of their careers and to foster the appreciation of contemporary poetry. Any poet or poetry lover would find it worth a visit.' Lavan Award, judged by W. S. Merwin. She served as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 2010 to 2015, and is currently the Poetry Foundation's Young People's Poet Laureate.
The winning poem will feature in the summer 2022 issue of The Caterpillar.
