The biennial Notting Hill Essay Prize, now in its third round, is open for submissions.

The Prize is open to unpublished essays in the English language, of between 2,000 and 8,000 words, on any subject. The winner receives £20,000, with £1,000 for five runners-up. David Bradley took the top prize last year, for "A Eulogy for Nigger".

The judging panel - who will read the entries without knowing the authors - are Rosalind Porter (Chair), Sameer Rahim, Kirsty Gunn, Daniel Mendelsohn and Travis Elborough.

Notting Hill Editions is an independent Publisher devoted to the best in non-fiction essay writing.

The 2017 Essay Prize will be open for entries from 16th June 2016, closing at midnight on January 9th 2017

The deadline for submissions is midnight on 9 January 2017. Authors of any nationality are eligible, but submissions must be written in/translated into English. The Prize ceremony will take place in June 2017.
