The Daily Mail and Transworld PublishersClick for Transworld Publishers Publishers References listing have joined forces to launch this new prize for a first novel.

Open to all residents of the UK and the Republic of Ireland over the age of 16.
The prize for the Daily Mail First Novel Award will be a publishing contract with Transworld Publishers, a division of Random House UKPenguin Random House have more than 50 creative and autonomous imprints, publishing the very best books for all audiences, covering fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s books, autobiographies and much more. Click for Random House UK Publishers References listing, and an advance of £30,000. Transworld will publish the winning work in the spring of 2008.
Submissions are invited of a complete novel in the English language of no less than 80,000 words and no more than 150,000 words, together with a synopsis.
The involvement of the Daily Mail is likely to ensure that the Prize will be well-publicised. Transworld is one of the most successful commercial publishers in the UK.
