Association of American Publishers

The AAP represents American publishers and their site is very much focused on issues affecting them. It also provides an update on copyright and the issues surrounding piracy, intellectual freedom and education. (http://www.publishers.org)

Association of Canadian Publishers

Brisk and informative site offering tips on how to get published, information on Canadian publishing and a media list for self-publishers. www.publishers.ca

Book Publishers Association of New Zealand 

The trade association is http://www.bpanz.org.nz/

Booksellers’ Association

Represents British booksellers, with a full range of training, conferences etc on matters of interest to the book trade. http://www.booksellers.org.uk

The Publishers’ Association

This organisation represents British publishers, but also has some useful general guidelines on Getting Published, which can be viewed on their site.  http://www.publishers.org.uk

Publishers’ Association of South Africa

Association representing South African publishers, who are listed in a detailed directory. Also awards informationhttp://publishsa.co.za/index.htm

Publishers Licensing Society Ltd

Representing British publishers, the PLS has mandates from 1600 publishers granting the Society the authority to license photocopying of pages from published works. http://www.pls.org.uk/ngen_public/default.asp

Scottish Publishers Association

Trade association of almost 50 Scottish publishers - helps publishers promote their books. http://www.scottishbooks.org/

Spoken Word Publishing Association

UK trade association for everyone working in the spoken word industry. Their website is no more than a list of publishers and producers.  http://www.swpa.org.uk
